[Published on 25-August-2021] Microsoft recently announce that Office 365 and Microsoft 365 services are getting a price increase for the first time in ten years. The changes apply to commercial and business users of Microsoft 365 and Office 365 next year, while education and consumer users are not affected. The pricing changes will go into effect on 01-March-2022.

As employees around the world shift to work from home as default, users with limited access to the internet or struggling with unstable internet connection will find it challenging to join in virtual meetings. To address this, Microsoft will add unlimited dial-in capabilities for Microsoft Teams meetings across enterprise, business, frontline, and government suites. This feature is currently only included for Microsoft 365 E5 and Office 365 E5 suite.

Aside from the Microsoft 365 and Office 365 suite, price increase was announced on Feb 2021 by Microsoft for its Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS). The standalone Microsoft Intune plan will cost $8 per user per month, up from $6. The standalone EMS E3 plan will cost $11 per user per month, up from $9. The pricing changes took effect on 01-August-2021.
